I’ve always been quite fascinated with the fact that most people, including myself, feel the need to wait for specific moments in order to initiate certain changes in their lives.
A very good example of what I’m trying to say is how most people make new year resolutions: changes that they probably wanted to implement all along, but needed an “occasion” to be put into place for the first time.
I looked everywhere to find the perfect word to singlehandedly describe this last year.
I found one : intense.
2014 was indeed a very intense year for me.
Very high ups, very low downs. Divided among 3 continents, 5 time zones and way more seasons that one would normally experience. Over 6000 km on a bicycle, an average of 3 hours of walking a day and countless long hours sitting on my bum.
And I totally agree with them, I mean, it's not like you need to change the last two digits of the date to make substantial changes in your life, but it helps for sure.
